Dopo un periodo di reclusione, alle bimbe vengono tagliati i capelli per poi coprire la loro testa con un fazzoleto di tela perché il sole potrebbe bruciare la loro pelle e farla diventare scura. Altre credenze ancestrali attribuiscono l'uso del fazzoleto per non  farsi guardare dai maschi, a loro volta le bambine non devono guardarli.
